Welcome to Marsh Farm Sports
Jujitsu for children at Lea Manor Recreation Centre
Welcome to the home of International Atemi Jujitsu's Marsh Farm based jujitsu club. One of many jujitsu clubs offering children's and adult classes in the Luton and Dunstable areas of Bedfordshire.
local history
Marsh Farm is a large housing estate in Luton Bedfordshire near Leagrave and Limbury. The area takes its name from the farm that used to own much of the land in the area. Renowned for its infamous reputation in the mid-nineties, not many people realise that the area has great historical significance.
On the western edge of Marsh Farm lies Waulud's Bank earthworks, a Neolithic henge monument dating from 3,000 BC. Evidence suggests that the site, having been abandoned, was re-used in the Iron Age during the Roman occupation of Britain. Many of the street naming conventions, Flint Close, Arrow Close etc pay homage to this historical heritage.
jujitsu and marsh farm
There have been several jujitsu clubs based at Marsh Farm over the years. Most notably three of them were run by instructors associated with International Atemi Jujitsu. Steve Rolls ran a club on Saturday afternoons, followed by Kevin Brown's Sunday morning club and lastly a club run by Denis O'shea.
This, the forth club to be based at Lea Manor Recreation Centre will be run by David Brown who also runs adult and junior jujitsu clubs at several locations across Luton.
